The Ripple team has been fairly busy recently investing in one specific subject, cryptocurrency payment technologies. Back at the beginning of October, Ripple announced a partnership with Bitpay, the largest blockchain payments provider.

This partnership will allow businesses to accept XRP for payments and BitPay Wallet users and BitPay Prepaid Cardholders will be able to store and spend XRP easily.

The company also teamed up with Finastra, a payments solution platform and world’s third-largest fintech firm. This partnership will allow customers to transact with the Ripple network that connects more than 200 financial institutions together.

‘Ripple and Finastra have teamed up to offer Ripple’s blockchain technology through Finastra’s payments solutions to support fast cross-border payments’

Ripple didn’t stop here and has just announced a new investment with Towo Labs through Xpring, an initiative created by Ripple. Towo Labs is a Swedish startup and according to the official announcement, the investment will help the platform to work on a new version of the XRP Toolkit and to support the development of hardware wallet firmware for XRP.

This will allow popular hardware wallets like Trezor and Ledger to integrate XRP into their products.

The price of XRP has certainly been reflecting these investments and partnerships. XRP has been one of the strongest cryptocurrencies in the past few weeks, currently hovering around the important area of $0.30
